Renee Franke, Senior Paralegal
Renee and I are in our 19th year of working together. Incredibly smart, savy, creative, innovative, industrious as all get-out. She's better than a lawyer - but without a law license; Heck, she doesn't need one. She thinks like a lawyer - she's got a "lawyer brain".
She runs our office, tends to me, keeps schedules, juggles everything, helps prepare cases, does the research, works at home, works on the road, works all the time, and gets the job done, over and over and over.
She's the best.
We have a good time, almost all the time, she might argue that. We crack on each other, tell lots of jokes and she tells me when to shut up, when to get certain work done, when to go home. We help each other when issues arise in our caseload. Lucky for me, she's flexible and adaptable. As far I'm concerned, ours is the most special office not just in town, but any place I know of...
Sometimes I forget it but Renee does have a life outside the office. She actually has a lot of really diverse interests. When she's not here being traffic cop to me, you can find her on a baseball field, cheering, sometimes coaching or taking pictures for the various sports teams around the lowcountry. She's turned out a quite a baseball player in her son Dalton, 13, who plays for the championship Goose Creek Diamondbacks and on the Goosecreek High School team.
One of the most little known facts about Renee is that she is a fabulous artist. Man, she can paint! She's even had her handpainted ornaments - beautiful, elaborate scenes painted on sand dollars - decorating the South Carolina Christmas tree on display in the the White House! How's that for accomplished!
