LAPARSCOPIC SAME DAY SURGERY TRAIN WRECKS!!
Here's What I'm Seeing In Our Office. More and more of this. Not good.
When all this less-invasive surgery first came to the forefront, there were many significant problems and injuries caused by surgeon malpractice. It was a new procedure, there was a steep learning curve, a lot of the training 'out there' was shaky at best if not downright wrong, a lot of surgeons rushed in to do procedures they were not qualified to do and on and on.
People got badly hurt. People got killed.
I have handled a bunch of these cases. Sometimes I think I could do the procedure I studied on this so much but truth be told, I'm not that stupid.
Things were supposed to improve. They haven't. I'm seeing a whole lot more bad injuries and deaths and compromised, messed up lives.
I think I know what's happened.
As these same day laparoscopic procedures have become more commonplace with broader and evermore expansive applications (gallbladders, hernia repair, appendectomies, intestinal surgery-the list goes on and on), physicians and surgeons have found them to be quick, 'easier' moneymakers and they have gotten casual about their performance and too about the care the patient needs and must have post-operatively.
To put a fine point on it, a lot of these doctors are not paying attention and that's hurting people.
Physician, again we say, Heal Thyself!
