Mayercraft Carrier - Music Cruise

For my January birthday, Andrea gave us (Smart Gal!) a cruise on the MayerCraftCarrier . Check it out ; there's another one next year, so get on the mailing list.  www.sixthman.net  We cruised from Miami to Freeport and back. Three days and nights on the enormous Carnival Victory with the music flowing. From 10 a.m. until 2/3 a.m., John Mayer, Bob Reynolds, Soulive, Bomb Squad, David Ryan Harris, Martin Sexton, Oakhurst, Colby Calle and more playing and tearing down the house all over the ship. Bonus prize - on the Lido deck we watched on an enormous mega-screen tv as the amazing New Yawk Gents won the Super Bowl. Wonderful stuff. See the whole shebang featured on VH1's Best Week Ever.

     John Mayer's extremely talented saxophonist Bob Reynolds plays with his own band including the renowned guitarist David Ryan Harris.

This was my absolute new favorite.  Soulive is a mix of jazz, funk, soul with jam band delivery.  It's hard not to dance when they play.  Brothers Neal (organist) and Allen Evans (drums) and Eric Krasno(guitar) played numerous sets at all hours of the day and night when not feasting on the outrageous nocturnal buffets.

 Lest we forget, yes, John Mayer did play three concerts but the best set by far was his appearance on the Lido Deck to play for the entire boat. I'm not sure who was driving that boat because the entire crew was out there rocking with us.
